Kogelo is a village in Kenya where United States of America President Barack Obama father was born . The president paternal grandmother Mama Sarah Anyango Obama, live in Kogelo.The village is Located in western Kenya ,near Lake Victoria and 60 kilometres (37 mi) northwest of
Kisumu city, the third largest city in Kenya.The largest city in Kenya is Nairobi which is the capital city .

The President father

Obama sr. the father of President Obama was born in 1932 in Kendu Bay Kenya. From 1950 to 1953, he studied at Maseno National School, a Christian boarding school that is run by the Anglican Church of Kenya .

He received a scholarship in economics .The program offered Western educational opportunities to outstanding Kenyan students. At the age of 23, he enrolled at the University of Hawaii at Manoa where he met the president mother .He graduated from the University of Hawaii in June 1962, and traveled to Cambridge, Massachusetts, to begin graduate study at Harvard University . He received a master's degree (AM) in economics from Harvard in 1965.
On his return to Kenya, Obama Sr. was hired by an oil company and then served as an economist in the Ministry of Transport, and later became senior economist in the Ministry of Finance. He died in 1982 .
